Henrico County attracts millions of visitors each year. Our restaurants are award winning, our attractions are varied, and our location is ideal. With so many reasons to love Henrico, it was just a matter of time before folks took notice. Here are a few of our best reviews.

  • Frommer’s voted Richmond Top 2014 Destination. Located in the heart of the U.S. Atlantic Coast, Henrico County, Virginia is a thriving, suburban community in the Richmond region that encompasses approximately a third of the metropolitan area. Surrounding the city on three sides, Henrico is conveniently located within a day’s drive of half of the country’s population.
  • With more than a dozen themed gardens on 50 acres of beautifully cultivated landscape, it’s easy to see why Henrico’s Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden was just recognized as USA Today's #2 Best Public Garden in North America and by the Travel Channel as one of the Best Botanical Gardens in the U.S. The garden provides year-round beauty with outstanding features including a classic domed Conservatory with ever-changing colorful orchids and tropical plants, more than 7,500 unique genera, species and cultivars from around the world and a Children’s Garden with a wheelchair accessible Tree House.
  • Henrico is a premier shopping destination with an exceptional array of unique, local shops and boutiques, specialty stores as well as national retail chains and department stores. Shopping opportunities in our community rival that of many other larger, upscale communities.
  • If it’s great food you crave, you’ve come to the right place. Henrico offers more than 500 restaurants, ranging from Southern and French cuisine to Irish and American grub. Prefer Asian food? Try Peter Chang, it made Bon Appétit’s 50 Best New Restaurants of 2012 list.
  • Beer lovers, you’re in luck. Henrico-based Mekong was voted #1 Great American Beer Bar in America two years in a row by craftbeer.com. Strangeways Brewing, a unique Henrico spot was just named one of Bon Appétit’s 10 New U.S. Breweries to Watch. “Exquisitely peculiar craft beer” is the guiding principle at Strangeways, where the taproom regularly features 25 mind-bending beers
  • Henrico's own Three Lakes Park and Nature Center recognized as one of the top five attractions visited in the Richmond area. It brings together the three worlds of air, water, and land for visitors to explore. The 6,500 square foot facility features a variety of exhibits designed to provide hands-on experiences. The 50,000 gallon aquarium gives visitors a “fish-eye” view of the underwater world.
  • A premier athletic event destination, Henrico County hosts more than 140 sports tournaments each year, including more than 20 major Babe Ruth and Little League baseball and softball tournaments every summer.
  • Richmond International Raceway is one of the most popular facilities among NASCAR drivers and fans in all of motorsports. Known as America’s Premier Short Track, RIR annually hosts two NASCAR Doubleheader weekends, featuring the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, under the lights on a ¾-mile D-Shaped oval. Only three tracks in the U.S. have continuously hosted NASCAR races at their present locations longer than RIR.
  • If golf is your passion, enjoy a round at one of Henrico's seven golf courses. Be sure to check out Belmont, Henrico County’s own 18-hole course. Belmont Golf Course hosted the 1949 PGA Championship, won by the legendary Sam Snead.
