Begin your day at historic
Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park. Costumed interpreters portray Dr. John Mosby Sheppard, the owner of Meadow Farm, and his family at the brink of the Civil War. This is a working 1860s farm site, so be sure to check out all Meadow Farm has to offer, including the blacksmith forge, barn, animals, fields, and pastures! Before you leave, stop by the Meadow Farm Museum to view the current gallery display and where you can purchase a variety of items in the gift shop.
Just a short way down the road, you'll come to
Walkerton Tavern, a beautifully restored 1825 historic tavern. Throughout the years, the site has been used as a tavern, post office, field hospital during the Civil War, store, and voting precinct.
Just behind Walkerton, stop in at
The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen to take in a show, concert or dance performance. While there, don't miss the rotating displays in each of their four outstanding art galleries!
End your day at
Q Barbecue with delicious authentic barbecue made by local champion pitmaster, chef and owner Tuffy Stone. His team serves up quality ingredients in a clean, fun atmosphere!
