TO THE EAST

Saude Creek Vineyards is a privately owned and operated vineyard and winery located on the Pamunkey River in historic New Kent County, Virginia.  Live music, wine tastings and more.  
 
Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the ultimate theme park with world class roller coasters, live entertainment, rides for all ages, and beautiful landscape.
 
Colonial Williamsburg's 301-acre historic area includes buildings from the eighteenth century as well as 17th-century, 19th-century, Colonial Revival structures and more recent reconstructions. The Historic Area is an interpretation of a colonial American city with dozens of exhibits.
 
Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center contains 800,000 gallons of aquariums and habitats with hands-on experiences, nature path and marshland.
 
Virginia Beach is only two hours from Henrico and offers three beaches and a beautiful boardwalk plus adventure sports and more. 

 
Charlottesville Historic Downtown Mall

TO THE WEST

Charlottesville Historic Downtown Mall is a pedestrian area with a mix of restored and renovated buildings that includes more than 120 shops and 30 restaurants.

Located just outside Charlottesville, Virginia, Monticello was the primary plantation home of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, who began designing and building Monticello at age 26 after inheriting land from his father.

Mr. Jefferson also helped bring wine to life in Virginia. The Monticello Wine Trail is comprised of 30 wineries all within easy access from Charlottesville.

Shenandoah National Park is 105 miles long stretching from Front Royal, Virginia to the Charlottesville area. With more than 200,000 protected acres, the park offers breathtaking waterfalls, hiking trails and gorgeous views for you to enjoy.

Carter Mountain Orchard has been a working commercial orchard for more than 100 years and offers pick-your-own peaches, nectarines, apples and vegetables from April to November.
Kings Dominion

TO THE NORTH

Kings Dominion is a 400-acre theme park located 30 miles north of Henrico. It offers more than 60 rides, shows and attractions and a 20-acre water park.

Midway between Henrico and Washington, DC, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, you can find history front and center through historic attractions to Civil War battlefields to the ghosts of Fredericksburg.

The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines--past, present, and future. Situated adjacent to Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia, the Museum's soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure.

Washington, DC, the nation's capital is defined by its monuments and buildings – including the iconic ones, the Capitol, White House and Supreme Court – but also its museums and performing-arts venues such as the Kennedy Center. And don't forget to visit the National Zoo!

The Newseum is a seven-level, 250,000-square-foot interactive museum of news and journalism featuring 15 theaters and 15 galleries.
